Ten Taliban militants were killed and their commander was captured as Afghan and NATO-led troops raided a Taliban hideout in Sangin district of Helmand province in south Afghanistan Friday night, spokesman for the provincial administration Daud Ahmadi said on Saturday.
"Afghan and international troops stormed the militants' hideout in Tirqadam Kariz area of Sangin district Friday night as a result 10 rebels were killed," Ahmadi told Xinhua.
Troops also captured a Taliban local commander Mullah Mohammad Hassan during the operation, the official added.
There were no casualties on the troops, Ahmadi said.
