Indonesia to verify citizens' condition after Israeli attack

Indonesia will verify citizens' condition after the Israeli attack on a ship carrying humanitarian aid and will seek for the country's responsibility, a press statement said on Wednesday.
It said that Indonesia will continue communicating with various related parties, including the highest Palestinian authority, President Mahmoud Abbas, and the Jordanian government to seek for more accurate information about its citizens' faith who were on the ship, Mavi Marmara.
Through its all representative in the Middle East, the government keeps collecting information as complete as possible about the citizens' condition.
The statement also said that on June 1 at 03:00 Jakarta time ( 2000 GMT on May 31) the Palestinian authority confirmed that one of Indonesian citizens has been treated at the London Hospital at town of Haiva, Israel.
It was also reported that other Indonesians (12 people) are safe.
"However, the information still should be verified," the statement said.
The government also has formed a task force in its embassy in Jordan's Amman to take anticipative and coordinative steps to make sure the citizens' condition and safety and evacuation process in coordination with local government and related international organizations.
The country is also making diplomatic efforts to ask for Israeli responsibility.
"The Indonesian government, through its representatives in the United Nations headquarters in New York and in Geneva as well as via foreign ministerial meeting of the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Singapore, has taken diplomatic steps to make sure that Israel takes responsibility," it said.
