A United Express plane from Washington, D.C., the United States, went off a wet runway Wednesday afternoon at Ottawa International Airport when it tried to land in the rain, injuring three people, local media CBC reported.
Flight 8050 had 33 passengers and three crew members on board. The 48-year-old pilot and an elderly female passenger have been confirmed suffering minor neck injuries, and the 31-year-old co- pilot suffered a minor leg injury.
It is reported that the two pilots were conscious and alert when they were sent to hospital, and were in stable condition.
The plane ditched into the grass, with no fires breaking out. The crash did not influence other flights, and another longer runway is still in use.
Police cars responding to the incident were still there when a Xinhua photographer arrived at the airport.
