Russian gas giant Gazprom and Belarussian gas pipeline operator Beltransgaz signed a gas transit deal on Friday, setting the transit fee for this year, the Interfax news agency reported.
"The two parties have signed the necessary documents, which set the price for the transit of 1,000 cubic meters of gas for 100 kilometers at 1.88 dollars in 2010. The parties are completing the verification of the calculations now," Beltransgaz CEO Vladimir Mayorov was quoted as saying.
The additional agreement does not change the contract price for gas supplies to Belarus itself, Mayorov said.
Gazprom previously paid Belarus transit fee as 1.45 dollars per 1000 cubic meters per 100 km, but Minsk insisted on raising the price.
