Over 30 Chinese and German experts from political, economic and social circles gathered at the first meeting of the second Sino-German dialogue forum in Beijing Thursday, exchanging views on cooperation in exploring new energy, developing a low-carbon economy and boosting bilateral ties.
Xu Kuangdi, forum chairman of the Chinese side, said that the forum, as a non-governmental high-level event, provided a platform to related experts from the two countries to put forward suggestion to their governments on expanding various cooperation.
Xu called on the participants to take this opportunity and contribute more to strengthening Sino-German relations and enhancing their long-term cooperation.
China had enjoyed rapid economic growth and increased international influence, said Bruno O. Braun, forum chairman of the German side, adding that people of all walks of life in Germany had paid more and more attention to China and could see broad prospects for German-Sino cooperation.
The German participants of this forum would like to work with their Chinese counterparts to promote the further development of bilateral relations, said Braun.
The Sino-German dialogue forum, established in Germany, November, 2005, aims to explore friendly bilateral cooperation in various fields and to make relevant suggestions to the two governments.
