Sixteen Russian tourists were injured as a tour bus overturned at a bypass in eastern province of Chonburi, Thailand.
According to the initial investigation, the bus carrying 42 Russian tourists were departing from Pattaya, a renowned tourist attraction in east coast, to the western Kanchanaburi province when having the accident.
Eight women and eight men were injured in the accident and they were sent to the Pattaya Memorial, Bangkok Pattaya and Bang Lamung hospitals. Only four of the sixteen were requested to stay overnight at the hospitals.
The bus driver said he lost control of the vehicle when he was trying to steer the bus. He believed the steering mechanism could be at fault.
However, he was charged with negligent driving by the police.
