An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the Bio Bio region in central Chile early Saturday, without causing casualties or damage.
US Geology Survey said the earthquake took place at 2:58 am at an epicenter of 35 km in depth, which was initially determined to be at 37.766 degrees south latitude and 73.4702 degrees west longitude.
The quake can be felt by local residents obviously.
So far, no casualties or material damage have been reported.
