The death toll of earthquake and tsunami in Kepulauan Mentawai regency of Indonesia's West Sumatra province has climbed to 394, Kompas.com online news reported on Friday.
Data from the province's Control Center of Disaster Mitigation Operation showed that fatalities were 394, heavy injuries, 267 while 142 got mild injuries.
Evacuation teams face difficulty in evacuating victims as they are lack of speedboat.
"Meanwhile, the number of refugees has reached 12,865, spreading in four sub regencies," said Ade Edward, manager of the province's Control Center of Disaster Mitigation Operation.
Aside of increasing death toll, as many as 312 people are still missing.
There are also 442 heavily damaged houses and 200 mild ones.
