Bird flu occurred in Vietnam's northern province Nam Dinh, said a report of the Department of Animal Health under the Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on Wednesday.
The bird flu struck two farms of Nam Dinh province, said the report.
To prevent the spread of bird flu, local authority has taken measures including slaughter of over 1,600 ducks infected with H5N1 influenza, said the report.
Other measures have also been implemented such as sterilizing the affected areas and their neighborhood and containing movements of traffic in these places to curb the disease from spreading.
Currently, Vietnam has only one province hit by bird flu, said the report.
