Deputy provincial governor of Kandahar in south Afghanistan was killed in a roadside bomb on Saturday, reliable sources said. "Deputy provincial governor Abdul Latif Ashna was on way to office when a roadside bomb struck his vehicle leaving him dead," an official at the press department of provincial administration told Xinhua.
The incident occurred in provincial capital Kandahar city.
However, the press department did not provide more information.
Meantime, a doctor in Kandahar Mirwais hospital said that five injured men have been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
