Turkey has sent more planes to bring nationals stranded in Egypt, where protests continued to spread, local media reported Tuesday.
As of 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, seven passenger jets have carried 1, 969 Turkish citizens to Turkey from Egypt, the Anatolia news agency cited a statement by the Turkish Prime Ministry Emergency and Crisis Management Authority as saying.
Turkey sent five charter planes to Cairo and Alexandria on Sunday to bring back nearly 1,200 Turkish citizens stranded in the country.
Protesters in Egypt entered a second week on Tuesday demanding an end to the 30-year-old rule of President Hosni Mubarak.
