Haiti's popular singer Michel Martelly has won the presidential election, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) announced on Monday.
Preliminary results showed that Martelly won 65.7 percent of the votes (716,980 votes), compared with 31.7 percent (336,747 votes) won by the other candidate, Miralnde Manigat.
The election was held on March 30 and final results will be announced on April 16.
