Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled three national defense projects on Tuesday, the state IRIB TV reported.
One of the projects is a marine cruise missile dubbed Qader. With a range of 200 km, Qader is capable of destroying targets at sea and on coast, including warships, said the report.
The missile is featured with low cruise altitude, high destructive capabilities, low weight and dimensions, and high precision, according to IRIB.
Another project is for the Valfajr torpedo system, which is fitted with 220-kg warheads and can be fired from subs and can be operated at unstable sea conditions, especially in the shallow areas at sea.
The third defensive project, the Bonyan 1 marine engine which operates with 850 horsepower, can be used in combatant and noncombatant crafts.
All of the projects were developed and built by Iranian experts, said the report.
Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi announced Sunday that Iran planned to inaugurate several "very important" defense projects on the occasion of the national " Defense Industry Day" in the fields of missile, ammunition and sea.
