An unknown gunman opened fire at the Chinese consulate in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon, damaging the glasses of the building's front door, officials at the consulate said.
Nobody was hurt in the shooting and the gunman fled the scene.
The consulate informed local police immediately after the incident and police officers have arrived at the scene.
The consulate also made solemn presentations to U.S. State Department's office in L. A. over the shooting and demand that the security of the consulate be beefed up and anyone responsible for the shooting be held accountable according to the law.
U.S. authorities have already started investigating the case.
