Dozens of Belgian firefighters on Friday morning sprayed water outside the office of Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo during an on-going cabinet meeting, in protest of auterity measures aimed to cut the government's budget deficit.
Witnesses said the firefighters, dissatisfied with the government's pension reforms, were originally kept within a designated demonstration site, but later lost patience and crossed the cordon.
They had sprayed water at the police with water guns.
About ten of the firefighters are now in talks with the authorities inside the prime minister's office. Belgian Minister of Pensions Vincent Van Quickenborne will attend the meeting, local media Belga reported.
