Two wounded European journalists have been smuggled out of the Syrian city of Homs into Lebanon, the Lebanese media said Tuesday.
The two journalists, British Paul Conroy and French Edith Bouvier, who were wounded in the flash point city of Homs in central Syria, have been sent to their respective embassies in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, Lebanon's English-language newspaper The Daily Star quoted local government officials as saying.
"We can now confirm that the injured British journalist Paul Conroy is safely in Lebanon, where he is receiving full consular assistance from our embassy," a statement issued by the British Foreign Ministry said.
