A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met with Jozef Olesky, the former Polish prime minister who is heading a think tank delegation's visit to China.
Liu Qi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, spoke highly of the traditional friendship between China and Poland, saying it has endured the test of time and changes on the international arena.
Liu, also secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the two states in various fields, noting that the strategic partnership forged in 2011 will serve as a firm foundation for bilateral ties.
Olesky said Poland is an important partner of China in Central and Eastern Europe, adding that his country pledged to bolster cooperation with China following Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Poland in April.
The Polish delegation was invited to China by the think tank of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
