BRATISLAVA -- Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Sunday to discuss issues including the transit of Russian gas, Fico said in a post on social media.
According to Fico, the meeting was a reaction to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said Thursday at a European Union summit in Brussels that he was against any transit of gas through Ukraine to Slovakia. (Slovakia-Russia-Gas)

DAMASCUS -- A Saudi Arabian delegation led by a royal court advisor on Sunday met with Ahmed al-Sharaa, the head of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, at the presidential palace in the Syrian capital of Damascus, according to Al-Arabiya TV.

CAIRO -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov held a phone talk on Sunday to discuss the developments in Syria and the situation in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
