Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the Kazakh capital city of Astana on the organization's 10th anniversary on June 15, the local English language satellite Press TV reported on Monday.
Ahmadinejad is scheduled to head for Astana on Tuesday heading a high-ranking delegation, said the report.
Ahmadinejad will also hold talks with senior officials at the SCO summit, including his Chinese, Kazakh and Russian counterparts.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an inter-governmental mutual-security organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Iran is the observer state of the organization.
