The African Union (AU) has said that it will hold two separate special meetings Thursday and Friday to deliberate on issues regarding the current situation in Libya.
Mezni Nuredine, spokesperson for the AU Commission chairperson, told Xinhua on Tuesday that during its emergency meeting held late on Monday afternoon, the AU decided to hold the two separate meetings, one with the AU High Level Ad Hoc Committee on Libya and the other one with the Peace and Security Council (PSC) at the level of heads of states.
The meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee will be held on Thursday while the heads of states from the members of the AU PSC has been scheduled to meet on Friday at the AU Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Nuredine said.
Libyan Embassy in Ethiopia has changed the waving flag of the country as the rebels in Libya are heading to control most parts of the country. Ali Abdellah, Libyan ambassador in Ethiopia, told journalists that the Libyan Embassy in Addis Ababa raised the rebels' flag high instead of Libya's flag of Muammar Gaddafi's government just in connection with the victory the rebels have been gaining in Libya.
