American box-office sensation Will Smith, who has produced a remake of the 1984 hit film "The Karate Kid", is likely to take his family to China to promote the new film's local release, the Oriental Morning Post reports.
The highly anticipated remake is due out in Chinese cinemas on June 22, following its North American debut on June 11.
Will Smith's 11-year-old son, Jaden, plays the protagonist who relocates with his mother from his American hometown to Beijing. While living in the city the boy stands up to bullies with the help of a kung fu master played by Jackie Chan.
Shot on location in Beijing, the film showcases local architecture such as the Great Wall, traditional siheyuan houses, and the Bird's Nest to name a few.
