Chinese equities remained weak on Wednesday after hitting six-month low on the previous trading day, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.26 percent, or 7.6 points, to close at 2,900.33.
The Shenzhen Component Index ended at 11,333.85 points, down 21.52 points, or 0.19 percent.
Total turnover shrank to 189.85 billion yuan (27.8 billion U.S. dollars) from 238.72 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Losers outnumbered gainers by 538 to 330 in Shanghai and 538 to 346 in Shenzhen.
