The Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Public Security issued a joint document May 19, stating that non-government personnel who accept bribes of more than 5,000 yuan (US$735.3) will be subject to criminal prosecution.
Under the new rules, non-government personnel in enterprises and other work units who abuse their positions by asking for property from others, receiving property illegally, making profits for others, or taking bribes totaling more than 5,000 yuan (US$735.3) will be prosecuted.
The following categories will also face prosecution under the new rules:
Individuals who offer bribes of more than 10,000 yuan (US$1,470) to non-governmental personnel in enterprises and other work units in order to obtain illegal profits. ?
Enterprises that offer bribes of more than 200,000 yuan (US$29,412) to non-governmental personnel in enterprises and other work units. ?
Board members and managers of stated-owned enterprises and other work units who abuse their positions to make illegal profits of more than 100,000 yuan (US$14705) for their own companies. ?
Board members and managers of stated-owned enterprises and other units who abuse their positions to make illegal profits of more than 100,000 yuan (US$14705) for other companies.
Employees of state-owned enterprises and public institutions who abuse their positions to make illegal profits for their relatives and friends and cause a direct economic loss of more than 100,000 yuan (US$14705). ?
Employees of state-owned enterprises and public institutions who abuse their positions to make illegal profits of more than 200,000 yuan (US$29412) for their relatives or friends. ?
Employees in state-owned enterprises and public institutions who abuse their positions to make illegal profits that result in bankruptcies, shutdowns, halts in production for more than six months, cancellation of a contract or withdrawal of a business license. ?
