All schools in China should take student safety as their first priority and enact concrete measures to protect students from accidental injures, Chen Xiaoya, Vice Minister of Education, said?in Beijing?Friday.
Loopholes in campus security should be quickly closed and all primary, secondary schools and kindergartens should be provided with security personnel as soon as possible, Chen added.
Chen made the remarks at a conference jointly held by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Central Committee for Comprehensive Management of Public Security.
Chen also called for intensified school safety education among both students and teachers.
Huang Ming, Vice Minister of the MPS, said police departments at all levels should conduct double checks on school security to ensure safe campuses for students.
