The Vietnamese Ministry of Health confirmed 115 more A/H1N1 influenza cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of flu patients to 1,158 in the country, local newspaper the New Hanoi reported Monday.
Among the newly detected cases, most of them are in the southern parts of the country, said the ministry.
Since the flu A/H1N1 cases keep rising, Vietnamese health officials suggest that people take prevention measures. However, they are not advised to buy Tamiflu drugs without doctors' directions, said the newspaper.
So far, 635 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. The rest are being quarantined and treated.
Vietnam has confirmed one death of A/H1N1 influenza since its outbreak.
