Novelties and air fresheners dangling from your rear-view mirror could cause accidents, the AA warned today.
A survey of more than 2,000 vehicles on motorways found that one in 20 had a potential blind spot caused by 'ornamental clutter'.
The worst offenders were odor-eating scent trees, teddy bears, beads and football pennants.
"The most bizarre and dangerous item was a silver CD which in the morning sunlight had the extra danger of dazzling other drivers with the reflection. There appears to be an urban myth that dangling a CD will somehow avert speed camera detection. It doesn't," the AA noted.
