Real Madrid midfielder Kaka will miss Tuesday's vital Champions League match away to Olympique Marseilles.
The pelvic injury which kept the Brazilian ace out of Saturday's 4-2 win at home to Almeria means the 65 million euro signings has been left out of the squad for what is arguably his side's most important game of the season to date.
Real Madrid has to win to assure it finishes ahead of AC Milan at the top of qualifying group C and assure a theoretically easier round in the last 16 of the competition.
However, should Real lose by three or more goals to the French side, Manuel Pellegrini's side would be knocked out of the tournament. With the final being played in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium that would be a huge blow to the club and one that would almost certainly cost Pellegrini his job.
Guti and Ruud Van Nistelrooy will also miss the game because of injury.
