Nigeria free to change World Cup base in South Africa

Danny Jordaan, Chief Executive Officer of FIFA 2010 Organizing Committee has said Nigeria is free to change theirWorld Cup base if they are dissatisfied with the Ballito, Durban facility.
Jordaan said this in Kimberley as the Northern Cape Province held a gala night to mark the 50-dayto the kick-off of the championship in South Africa.
He said there were more than enough facilities for the World Cup teams, adding that if Nigeria wanted a change, they were free to do so.
"We have 46 base camps and Nigeria can choose whichever base camp they want," the News Agency of Nigeria quoted him as saying.
"So if they want to change their base camp, there are many other possibilities but each country decides where they want to base themselves," he said.
According to Jordaan, he had yet to get any indication of Nigeria's intention to change but assured the federation that there were many facilities they could opt for.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) PresidentSani Lulu had said last month during an inspectionvisit that there were still issues with the Super Eagles' Hampshire base camp in Durban.
Lulu said they would be back at the end of April before a final decision would be made.
The NFF delegation which included the Eagles' coach Lars Lagerback, were assured that the facility would be ready in April.
The Super Eagles are expected to arrive in Richards Bay in May before moving to Ballito earlyin June to camp at the Hampshire Hotel, which is only a few minutes drive from the training pitch located at Ashton International College.
"The facilities are still being put right. Thehotel is almost completed but we have one or two or three things that are outstanding," Lulu said after the visit.
