3. Liu Xiang's comeback
The Guangzhou Asian Games 110m hurdles final witnessed the comeback of a king, whose name is Liu Xiang. The former Olympic champion and world record holder crossed the line in a season-best time of 13.09 seconds to win his third successive Asiad gold after 2002 and 2006.
His win came 27 months on from his calamitous outing in Beijing, when he limped out of his heat with an Achilles' tendon injury to shatter the hopes of a nation.
After the Beijing Olympics, Liu almost faded out of the sight of the general public, focusing on his surgery in the United States and rehabilitation. Just when people are wondering about Liu's future, he came back in his old style, confident and vigorous.
