In 1991 Koenig Specials produced the C62, a faithful replica of the legendary Porsche 962 race car, and so was born one of the fastest cars the world had ever seen.
Astronomical figures abound when reviewing the C62. 588bhp, 237mph and 200kmh from standstill in a time warp 9.9 seconds, along with a small matter of £350,000! An exact 962 replica would have been unusable on the road so the Koenig's ground clearance was increased and engine noise was suppressed (a little). Nevertheless, a power to weight ratio of well over 540 bhp/ton ensured that the C62's performance was not far off the racing Porsche's figures.
