Beijing takes the top spot as the most attractive city to China's top 500 companies from 2002 to 2011, according to the 2011 report on the top 500 companies of China recently released by the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) and the China Enterprise Directors Association (CEDA).

Big cities, with strengths in such aspects as desirable environment, concentration of talented personnel, information accessibility and life of convenience, have always been favored by top companies. Just like college graduates who prefer big cities for career development, China's heavyweights also tend to base their headquarters in those famous big cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
