On Jan. 19, 2006, an Antonov An-24 aircraft operated by the Slovak Air Force crashed in the snowy and forested terrain of northern Hungary. The airplane was carrying 43 people; most of them were Slovak peacekeepers who had just finished their 6-month tour of duty in Kosovo. A man named Martin Farka? was the sole survivor. He managed to call his wife, asking her to alert rescue services and the police.
