On Aug. 2, 2005, an Airbus A340 airliner was expected to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport. However, due to poor weather conditions, the plane failed to come to a full stop on the runway and plunged into nearby Etobicoke Creek, subsequently bursting into flames. The highly-trained flight attendants successfully evacuated all 297 passengers and 12 crew. No one died and only 43 people were injured.
