The intermittent rainy weather ceased?Thursday but temperature differences between day and night are set to increase due to spreading of cold fronts, weathermen said.
With the high atmospheric pressure, the sky is expected to be clear?Friday and over the weekend with the weather mainly sunny to cloudy and the maximum temperature around 22 degrees Celsius, which should be good for outdoor activities such as visiting the World Expo, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
But with the expansion and increase in cold fronts, the lowest temperature this weekend could drop to 14 degrees in the morning and the temperature difference could grow to seven or eight degrees, the bureau said.
The bureau said the cold fronts affecting the city came from three directions, east, northwest and west.
Officials explained that the eastern cold front should be wet and settled, while the western front would bring the city dry and sunny weather.
But the strongest front is coming from the northwest, which is expected to cause gales and a drop in temperature.
The weather?Friday is forecast as sunny to cloudy with temperatures ranging from a low of 15 degrees to a high of 23, said the bureau's website.
And tomorrow should see similar weather conditions and temperatures.
