China sent its first batch of emergency humanitarian aid to flood-hit Pakistan on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Commerce (MOC).
The relief package included 3,000 tents, part of the 30 million yuan (4.7 million U.S. dollars) in emergency humanitarian aid that China has offered to help with relief efforts in Pakistan's flood-ravaged southern regions, the ministry said in a statement on its website.
The goods were sent from China's eastern city of Nanjing on 6:30 a.m. Thursday and are expected to reach Karachi, Pakistan's capital, by Friday morning Beijing Time, it said.
