Steve Buscemi has a small part that requires him to spend a lot of time in a body cast, hands thrust upward as if signaling a touchdown. It tells you something that this is one of the funnier bits in the film. |

| The actors seem to be having a grand old time. It's mostly five guys sitting around cracking wise. Whenever you and your pals do that, naturally, some of it is funny, some of it isn't. The difference is, you don't charge admission. Was there a script? Evidently; Sandler and Fred Wolf are credited with writing it. But it plays as if the actors just riffed on whatever came to mind, operating from the barest of outlines. |
