Seven service members with the NATO- led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were killed Monday in Afghanistan.
A press release issued by the ISAF said five ISAF service members died following an improvised explosive device attack in eastern Afghanistan Monday.
In a separate operation, an ISAF service member died as a result of small-arms fire in eastern Afghanistan, said the ISAF press release.
Another ISAF service member died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan Monday, said the press release.
The press release failed to provide further information.
It is ISAF policy to defer identification procedures for casualties to the relevant national authorities.
