Sun Yat-sen University in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, has started charging those who take wedding photos in its campus, the Information Times reported. Photo takers are required to pay 3,000 to 4,500 yuan per hour, depending on the parts of campus used.
The move has triggered a backlash online, with internet users calling the regulations "robbery," but the university authorities have defended the policy, saying the measures are intended to protect the school's atmosphere, adding that school staff and alumni are exempted from the fee.
